Oarus Masthew

Oarus Masthew is the half-orc Speaker of Termalaine, elected in a close and contentious election. He is the adopted son of Shaelen Masthew, the now-retired Speaker.
Masthew is the target of an active smear campaign by Naerth Maxildinarr, the end goal of which is to replace Masthew with Lieutenant Skerrin, second-in-command of the Termalaine militia, and lackey to Speaker Maxildinarr. Maxildinarr is rumored to be part of the Zhenterim and intent on expanding its sphere of influence in Icewind Dale.
The Party assisted Masthew by clearing the Termalaine gem mine of kobolds, giving the credit to Masthew for hiring them and resulting in the forced combat between Zarra and Klaus Hildegard. Masthew has in turn offered to help the Party as and when he can.
