Summer Star

This magic item looks like a 6-inch-diameter gyroscope featuring three scorched rings inlaid with runes and a dense chunk of coal at its core. A detect magic spell or similar magic reveals a weak, residual aura of transmutation magic surrounding it. This item wields the incredible power to alter the weather in a vast distance around it.
This item was once the prototype of a sage named Macreadus until it malfunctioned, killing the sage. Eventually, it was repaired and taken possession of by a group of adventurers that stumbled upon it in the Black Cabin.
Its activation drew the attention of Auril, so she sent minions of hers to destroy the item and anyone alongside it, though they were dispatched by the adventurers. 8 hours after its activation, the Summer Star's magic faded away, and the item has since become non-magical.
