Journey of Enlightenment
When Goron priests have finalized their indoctrination and studies, the top students are given the chance to go on a Journey to learn more about Ganondorf and thus become better devotees. It is considered a high honor to be chosen to go on this journey and very few decline the opportunity to travel Hyrule.
Execution
Priests are given one year to travel Hyrule. Their main destination is the Gerudo Desert and the Gerudo City where Ganondorf grew and began his journey to power.
Beyond those locations, many goron take this opportunity to travel to other places and learn more about the world before returning to fulfill their duties.
