Sheikah
"One thousand years ago, the Sheikah were a prosperous people who created and wielded great power in the service of the kingdom of Hyrule's royal family. They used their powers to create weapons that led the Kingdom to greatness, but the people of Hyrule grew fearful of this power. The power was cast down and the Sheikah were oppressed by the king. Now, the royal family has offered the Sheikah their place in Hyrule once again, and the Sheikah have come out of their isolation." -Creating a Champion
The Wise Clan That Supports the Royal Family
The Sheikah have lived in Kakariko village for centuries. They made due with their isolation and thrived in the mountains separating Necluda from Lanayru. Over time, the Sheikah allowed the Hylians to mend their relationship. Visitors turned to traders turned to tourists and soon a road was built from Central Hyrule to Kakariko. When the Sheikah aided in the building of the Lanayru Promenade the road to Kakariko was extended to connect with the Promenade, making Kakariko a heavily trafficked town which grew in prosperity. In this way, relations between the royal family and the Sheikah people have mended and so the old alliance was re-kindled. A district in castle town was repurposed to house the Sheikah who would return to work at the castle. The Sheikah remember their history, however, and not all are so eager to forget old oppression.Culture
The Sheikah have a unique and deeply ingrained culture that can readily be observed by their distinctive clothing and practices. They look very similar to your average Hylian, but on the whole they are more physically gifted - with many learning martial arts. They are also characterized by their white hair. Though reunited with the Hylian, they are still a secretive people, preferring to pass on traditions and customs in private. When it comes to matters of unrest or disagreement, they go to great lengths to keep their problems discrete. They live modestly off the land but they still possess remnants of their ancient power - small bits of strange technology that they've all but forgotten how to use. They wear small pieces as charms or jewelry as part of their fashion. The Sheikah pray to the Goddess Hylia and tend to their village shrine with reverence. They believe that the Goddess will deliver them from darkness by sending a hero to vanquish evil, but are prepared to face tribulations alone as they have done in the past should things turn for the worse.
