Gerudo Royal Family

The leaders of the Gerudo have taken on many titles over the years, from Chiefs to Queens and the very rare King. The family is essentially a hereditary line of rulers, save for every 100 years when a male gerudo is born. Due to how rare an occasion this is, that boy is automatically made king. The most famous king of the gerudo was Ganondorf Dragmire.

Structure

The gerudo have several ranks, depending on if there is a male alive or not. Once a male gerudo is born, every 100 years, he is made king of the Gerudo. If he takes a spouse, that gerudo becomes queen.   The subsiquent leaders of the tribe are then referred to as "Chief" rather than "Queen" until a new male gerudo is born. Despite this, daughters of the leader of the tribe are often referred to as "princess", although this is a non-official title.
