Altyn

The most recently incorporated Governate of The Phurzic Dominion, the Duchy of Altyn is a region that shares cultural heritage with the nearby Kingdom of Evergnon, though remains quite distinct, with a cooler and damper climate and less fertile lands. Ruled by a Duke instead of a king or Magister, Altyn was relatively isolated from other neighbouring nations, and had generally mixed terms with its cultural neighbour, while fearing the raiding centaurs of the Southern Alliance. It was therefore a prime target for the Dominion's latest wave of expansions alongside its neighbours, being the last to surrender to them. Despite this, Altyn's landmarks such as the Bronze Fist, and its various traditions remain in place, and as long as they pay taxes to the governors who only sometimes are there to supervise, their existence is well off.

Government

Ruled by a duke instead of a king, the Altay people were once subjects of Evergnon at the height of its political power, though broke free with assistance from Zcaroth and Vunk during a rebellion. Therefore the organisation is somewhat similar to that of Evergnon, with lords and barons underneath the duke. However, as the Dominion took over, the duke’s role and authority was significantly reduced while lords also had powers curtailed in favour of senatorial power linked with the governor’s advisors. While still allowed to keep his title, the duke, much like the kings of Il-Azori is reduced to almost a figurehead outside of the capital city: a spatial leader for his people, but not the authoritative figure he once was. The governor now holds more power in that sense.
