Searching The Caves

Magical Guano is dropped by the large messenger bats that colonize the Undertrees Caves within the Hoia Forest. It is produced when one of these bats eats something, or someone as they are omnivores, infused with magic.
The magic simply passes through the bats, though some believe it their occassional eating of magic over millenia that has allowed the bats to evolve to a height of four feet.
True or not is of little concern when searching for magic guano as this is a deadly task. Unless one is in good standing with the werewolves in Hoia Forest, reaching the caves can get the searcher eaten. Silver weapons is a must.
Once the Undertrees Caves are reached, there is the little matter of going about the caves without being noticed by the messenger bats. A shirt and hat made of guano beetle carapaces is highly recommended.

Searching Through Guano

Avoiding the larger hazards of forest and cave, the searcher must then find which pile of guano in which of the many caves magical guano has been dropped. Thousands of years of bats living in the Undertrees Caves has produced an astonishing amount of guano. Some places are so thick and petrified it could take a day of digging to reach the stone floor it rests on. With so much guano from past and present bats, just does a searcher ever find the magic guano?

Guano beetles. When a guano beetle has eaten the fungi growing on magic gunao, it changes and grows into an Auroch Beetle. The most important change to these beetles is its antennae which becomes sensitive to fungus that is growing on magic guano. When within ten feet it will quiver. The closer it gets, the more intense the quivering. Wielding an antennae like a dowsing rod, searchers will wander the dangerous caves.

Uses

Goblins use magic poop as the gooey base for their a paste that will attach any two things together in a permanent bond. This past changes the two things at the contant points to become as one. Even when the magic is removed the bond stays forged.
Another use for magic poop is as the base for finger paints. Merely add a dye of choice for the prefered color. These finger paints are used to inscribe magical tattoos or sigils on items. What these tattoos and sigils do is an entire art best known to the goblins.
