Lost Queen Garb

How It Works

This garb is a heavy gown of state and a queen's crown.   The gown is a fabulous garment.   Hidden within the fine stitching, in tiny tiny threaded letters, is the story of Anica Jagiello.   It also reveals her title... Raven Queen.

The Cost

A lot of time has passed and Anica, now the elusive Raven Queen, has changed as her life has been prolonged through the memory-bond to the Queen's Garb.   She will not appreciate her truth being revealed.

The Limitations

In order to read the story, one must wear the crown and be skilled as a seamstress or tailer.

Origin

In the dark days of the 1440s, Anica Jagiello who was a seventh daughter of a seventh daughter within that Polish dynasty, found herself promised in marriage to Mircea Dragul. At the terrified age of 14, she traveled off to have her wedding. Arriving there, she found things in tense political turmoil. The wedding was delayed, and so she spent her days getting to know her soon-to-be husband.   His father suddenly left on an important trip to the Ottoman Empire, leaving Mircea in charge. Hunyadi invaded soon after the father left and there was a rushed ceremony to wed Anica and Mircea. She was left at teh castle while he led his forces to face the invaders. Mircea was defeated but he had staunch followers and immediately began to rebuild his armies. Word of the defeat reached the castle and Anica fled with the Queen's Crown.   She eventually found her way to Baba Yaga where she begged to be hidden from all who hunted her and the crown she did not want yet felt compelled to ensure never fell into enemy hands. She worked hard doing all the chores for Baba Yaga, staying humble and polite, waiting for an answer.   Finally, Baba Yaga came to a decision. She took the crown and gown and, in exchange, cast magic upopn Anica. By day she would take the form of a raven and by night return to her human form. All memory of Anica was erased from the world. This was so complete that not even Baba Yaga herself remembered her.   Three hundred years later, Baba Yaga, tired of the heavy crown cluttered her wardrobe, sent it and its matching gown off to Sliezbykt's Cabinet.
