The Traveling Cobbler

The typical cobbler tends to work out of a shop placed wihtin one town or other. But, not all customers can get to a cobbler. This is especially true for monsters. Fortunately, for them, goblin cobblers have developed a secondary guild known as the Boot Tackers. They fly about at night on their trusty messenger bats with one or two pack bats to carry their tools and essentials.   It is not random flying about. Each boot tacker has their own map marked with places known to have good customers. These maps are considered precious and often have been handed down from master to apprentice. Or taken. They are goblins, after all.   When arriving, they first send their bats to rest within nearby trees or, preferably, a cave. Then, they turn into their goat form to hide from humans and head right into town. With a few sniffs about, they easily find the secret monster hangouts and go inside to announce they will be setting up their shop outside of town. With word of them opening up for business let out, they leave set up their shop, and await.

Clientele

Vampires are the monsters who most often prefer private sessions. Those who hold castles, manors, and estates are particularily reluctant to gather like a commoner for their turn. Instead, they often send invites for the very best cobblers to come to their abodes. Once a boot tacker has impressed a vampire, it is almost a certainly that the vampire will exclusively order all their footwear to be made by that particular boot tracker. Some boot tackers have become so well skilled that all they do is craft for their select clientele thus nevermore needing to set up a working camp.

Werewolves are notorious for loosing their clothing, and shoes, when they change. Their tendencies of being unpredictable and aggressive lead to them always in need of new footwear. It is they who most frequent the boot tacker's camp shops. They buy the cheapest pairs but always add a bottle of some spirited drink, much to the delight of the boot tackers. Now and again a werewolf will need fancier footwear for a special occassion. Funnily enough, the female werewolves seem to lose their shoes less often and buy more of the fancier sort.
