Baba Yaga's Coffer

How It Works

The coffer sits beneath the cabinet. It is both unmovable and always closed as though it were bolted to the floor and locked.   There is slot at the peak of the lid where coins can be dropped in.   Coins fall in, making a merry jingling sound as though falling onto a grand pile of other coins, but it is actually empty.   The coins simply fall into the coffer and out to Baba Yaga's Purse.   As long as Sliezbykt drops coins into Baba Yaga's Coffer, new merchandise will arrive in his cabinet. This is something he does with great dilligence.

What It Costs

Though anyone can drop coins into the coffer and have them be delivered to Baba Yaga, only when Sliezbykt dropps in coins will it ensure the cabinet is kept full of trinkets and baubles.   At the first full moon of each new year, the goblin shopkeeper must prick a finger and rub blood onto each of the red gems decorating the coffer.   If he fails, he will have to wait another year before the cabinet will refill.

The Limitations

The coffer will only transfer coins when there is room for them in Baba Yaga's Purse.   Until she makes room, there will be no new items for the cabinet.   The only currency the coffer accepts is copper, silver, or gold coins.   Electrum, a natural ore that is a blend of gold and silver, is acceptible coin material as well.   Paper money is spit back out.

Origin
Baba Yaga's Coffer was once the coffer of a nobleman who stuimbled upon her one day in the far distant past. So distant, she has since forgot his name. What she does remember is that he was very polite, proper, and paid handsomely for a bit of advice she was amused enough to give.   The very lovely, and metal, box sat near the foot of her bed so she could admire it every day changing her shoes, slippers, or whichever footwear she was in the mood for. The tenth or twelfth time she stubbed her toe on it, what the last straw and she hauled it out to her storage shack, which was also crafted with legs so it could travel with her much bigger hut.   When Sliezbykt came to her and she decided to make him her shopkeeper, she cast magic up it so she would not have to bother traveling to wherever Sliezbykt and the storage shack haooened to be to collect her coins.
