A Reign in the Making
Political event
Two months after killing Cranough Tireste, Johan Ganay was officially crowned the new king in 819 AP, causing a minor rebellion amongst the people of Tenglan who regarded the former king's death a tragic injustice. Never has a king taken the crown with such Public hatred and violence.
Over recent years, this hatred has abated due to his conflict with the Queen, who introduced the universally unpopular rule of closing down the All Race League and then went on to ban all female Imperial balters.
Ganay used his cunning mind to outwit her Royal Highness and, at the same time, set up closer ties with the Church. His actions saved the ARL and gained him supporters, but many still doubt his reasons, believing them to be self-motivating and not in Tenglan's best interests.
His abolishment of all the developments that the previous king Tireste had started adds fuel to his doubters' fire. Abolishing free health care to fund his military power and increase his personal army has also raised eyebrows. Personally, I am most concerned about his reasons for arming his personal Guard with crown-bankrupting indestructible essence-based weapons, and it is still unclear why the Queen hasn't stopped him.
Questions for a future debate.
