The Primordial Dragons in House of Aeon | World Anvil
"Long have there been debates on the origin of Vah'rainn and long have there been scholars who study its ever-present and unending flow of power. Yet all agree that it is the very foundation of magical influence within all the realms and universes. Powers of the elements of nature, of the mysterious magical eddies that weave in and out of all beings and creation. In no other embodiment is this more clear than in the histories of the Primordial Dragons. Ancient beings born from the wild and unchecked magics of Vah'rainn, these Primordial beings were more than just gods- they were the embodiment of the natural forces of the universe. Of untold number and each one unique in its representation of the universe."
  • The Chronicler
  • The Primordial Dragons

The Primordial Dragons are beings simply born from the magical flows of Vah'rainn much like the first realms which evolved wild and unchecked. It is unknown to all by two beings in existence how many Primordial Dragons there once were and the true scope of their influence. All study of the Primordial Dragons comes from The Chronicler who has observed the remaining living specimens and a handful of remains scattered throughout Vah'rainn.

    Powers and Capabilities

Born of the unchecked natural flows of magic and nature the Primordial Dragons not only harness aspects of that un-tamed power, they are that un-tamed power. Aspects of their abilities are speculated to encompass not only the Eight Laws of Reality but all manner of the sub-classes of magic such as Blood Magic which has long been stamped out of all existence.

    Physical Characteristics

While these beings are described as Dragons due to common characteristics that they share with the Children of Aeon the true scope of their visages is unknown; however, the two remaining Primordial Dragons recorded by The Chronicler are clearly beings of draconic make. They have scaled bodies of massive proportion, commonly with four legs, long tails, and wings large enough to support their massive bodies. The Children of Aeon are described as living mountains in their size alone, so great is their physical presence. Yet Sae'loa the Essence is reported by the Chronicler in his works Primordial Beginnings as "equal in size to both the First Children combined." Even greater still is Zevvoth the Hungering which Primordial Beginnings claims is 'twice over the size of Sae'loa."

    Other Notes and Characteristics

Primordial Dragons can exist in full might and power without the worship of mortal souls, unlike Natural Gods, and were created without the assistance of another God, unlike Risen Gods, making their power unique from both Risen and Natural Gods.

In all depictions of the Primordial Dragons they are seen without pupils of any sort within their eyes whereas Aeon's Children, and all their children, are depicted with some form of pupil. Some Scholars often claim that this is simply a result of artists' efforts to make the Children of Aeon appear more relatable as only a scant few gods have ever seen a Primordial Dragon, let alone mortals. If the Chronicler knows the truth about such a detail he keeps it to himself.
