Flowori

"We all thought we were going to die that day, the day the Walin armada appeared over our planet. Then it happened, those few ships sent to protect us opened those petal-like arms and the sky became filled with flowers in our eyes. It was in that one moment we knew, we could survive this."-Survivor of the Simmeri-Walin War
Flowori, the original symbol of the Simmeri armada, and the core of their fleets. These flower-like ships were first introduced a few years before the outset of the Simmeri-Walin War, originally designed as simple defensive warships in case of piracy. When the war broke out, this all changed, and their ability to create massive shield walls in space became the hallmark of Simmeri formations. Since then they have become the mainstay of the Velani Federation's armada and an icon of their desire to protect their member races.

Design

The Flowori is a cruiser class warship heavily based on a popular flower found on the Simmeri homeworld of Strus IV. This floral design is most prominently seen in the four petal-shaped arms that extend from the front of the ship. These structures generally stay folded to the sides of the warship, only deploying into an x-shaped formation when in battle.   The body of the ship is oblong in shape and has a smooth surface indicative of the Simmeri aesthetic. Gun ports are hidden along this superstructure and help to protect its weaponry when not in active use.

Usage

Originally used solely by the Simmeri, it was later incorporated into the fleets of the Simmeri-Walin Alliance after the war. This remained the case until the foundation of the Velani Federation, where the Flowori became the backbone for the combined fleets of this new galactic power.
