Power Points

These are physical locations on Horin where mana collects and routes itself to other parts of the world. All power points are considered High Mana / Sanctity except nexus points, which are Very High.   There are 7 Nexus points, 49 Primary, 2401 Secondary and thousands of Tertiary power points.   Primaries tend to be in or around major cities, secondaries are small villages or places such as a Unicorn’s grove or a færie mound, and tertiaries can be anywhere, such that rare magical herbs may grow upon them, or magical creatures may create their lairs there. Nexus points are each over one mile in radius.

Localization

You cannot sense a power point naturally until you cross it’s borders, and then, only if you are a mage. To seek a power point or line, the seeker must possess channeling or use magic to sense it.   All spell failures on a Power Point are dramatic, whether the caster was using Raw mana to power the spell or not. It is up to the GM whether the results of casting with Raw Mana on a Power Point are more severe; this largely depends on the spell being cast.

Nexus Points

  The locations of the 7 Nexus points and the structures built at their centers:   Herbal Nexus (49): Elven Capital City on western edge of Magewood
Earth Nexus (45): Dwarven Great Arena in the northern mountains
Air Nexus (45): Temple of the Rising Hands on Highest peak of the Jonin Range
Fire Nexus (48): Firethrown Isle, at the center of its Volcano.
Desert Nexus (50): The only Nomad City at the Oasis in the center of the Radiant Sands
Water Nexus (44): The Wizard’s tower on the Isle of Magic’s highest mountain peak
Animal Nexus (42): The burial grounds of the Tribes of Bann in the center of the Lowlands.
