Council of the Enlightened

Structure

The Council of the Enlightened is an Alliance Governing the large scale decisions of the 7 Kingdoms of Edri. Each Kingdom is represented by 2 Ambassadors from each Kingdom, generally assigned by the ruling governmental structure of each Kingdom. Their duty is to maintain peace among the Kingdoms, and to deal with issues that would harm the world in general.

History

Formed after the first defeat of The Great Dragon to continue the Unified Kingdoms alliance, the Council of the Enlightened has been an important part of the world of Edri. During the re-emergence of The Great Dragon, the Council made its most critical and worst mistake. Led by the Council of the Enlightened, the Magicians of Old Arcanis created a binding ritual to trap the Gods into a Sword, forged in the great furnace of Ember. The binding succeeded, and the essence of the Gods was trapped within, but at the cost of the Council's lives as the Dragon learned of their plot and attacked the Capital City as they completed the ritual. Blaze Val'Darian led the attack of the Dragon, wielding the newly forged weapon, finally killing the beast. As the sword plunged through the head of the beast and into the ground below it split the ground jn twain and began the events that would be known as "The Cataclysm". The Council of the Enlightened now still exists, held together by duty to the remaining people of Edri, and their faith in "The Architect", Blaze Val'Darian's childhood friend. New members have been chosen among the 7 Kingdoms, and the Knights of St. Kitt have been rebuilt as their devoted guardians.
