What is something you saw that was interesting?
"Interestingly enough, it wasn't so much the surroundings as it was the people that fascinated me. Of course, nature was a complete wonder to me- and a terror, seeing as I'd stayed mostly indoors for most of my..." He pauses to find a word that is suitable for the surroundings. "Training? Yes." He fiddles with his hands before smiling lightly. "It was the people that really interested me. I'd never seen this many people in all my life, the isolation really made the size of the world overwhelming. But in an exciting way!"
He gets a bit more animated as he speaks, motioning with his hands. "Even when people were angry, they had stories and beliefs, things they were passionate about, things they believed in. And I found, I could make someone's day just by asking a little bit about them and letting them have a nice one sided conversation about something they were thinking about while they were purchasing goods."
He puts a finger to his lips. "I suppose one of the most fascinating things I saw was when I was traveling with Fehr- Fehr was the one who found me after I left. He taught me how to be a merchant! I was traveling with Fehr, and it was early morning- I always woke up before him to organize our supplies and get the horses ready for travel, and he drove them. We were camped atop a hill just off the trail, with a lake beneath us. And I tell you, I've never seen a sunrise as beautiful as those golden, lavender rays that came over the distant trees. I stood there for a good amount of time, Fehr actually woke up and came to stand with me. This world...it is beautiful merely in the way it functions. It walks on with no idea there are creatures that observe it, and yet everything nature does is with a wicked kind of grace. The most interesting thing I've seen is the natural beauty of the world around us...though I've never seen the ocean. It's my greatest failure, I hear stories of it's splendor and feel such jealousy."

Lithe, agile, and aggressive in combat. More clothing layers than one would normally wear, probably more than he should in the summer. He wears three rings, one which allows him to sleep and eat little, the other a constant remainder of his childish failure, and the last is a re minder of his greatest success. Soft and sunken eyes, smile lines, dark circles.
Body Features
His skin is tan, but a bit more pale than one would expect. He wears so many layers that only his face and hands tend to see the light of day. His shoulders are broad but his torso is on the thin side, and he sports book holsters on his hips, for one can never have too many books.
Facial Features
His eyes are olive green and thin at the ends, with crows feet and dark circles. He has smile lines on his face, and the beginnings of wrinkles where he furrows his brow frequently. His jaw is square but his cheekbones are soft and round.
Identifying Characteristics
He doesn't normally stand out in a crowd, especially not a town of scholars or adventurers. But the contrast of tan skin with blonde hair is enough to get the attention of some people. He also has book holsters.
Physical quirks
Left hand dominant, speaks with his hands, has a bad habit of punching walls that can't be moved when he's infuriated. He comes down more heavily on his right foot when he walks.

Demisexual, male preference. Spent most of his life reading books and had very little opportunity for romantic attraction. Due to traveling as a merchant he never got close to anyone, so feeling attraction was hard.

Mental Trauma
He was raised by a cult and tricked into viewing his teachers as family so that it would be extremely traumatic to try and turn against them, therefore better ensuring his loyalty. He was bullied and isolated for many years, and upon escaping he realized how he had abandoned his true family and had supported and worked for monsters. He has serious anxiety, emotional outbursts, and nightmares.

If a system is corrupt, you do whatever it takes to overthrow it. Turning your back on corruption for any reason is cause for shame, no matter who you are protecting. The longer you allow it to exist, the more responsible you are for it. Protect the innocent, educate the ignorant, arm the willing if it is right. Stand up for yourself, because no one else will.

Being barefoot is being naked. He's very shy about showing anyone his feet. Seeing other people's feet is other people being naked.

Motivation
He is driven to annihilate Jark Solis (the Dark Sun), the cult that raised him and that blackmails and enslaves masses of people by contracting them with the sole desire of gaining power and control. He cannot rest until he's driven them down and away, he cannot forgive himself for turning his back for so long. He does want to settle down, and he'd love to raise a kid though he'd be frightened of being an utter disappointment.

He is very adept with lightning magic, an avid reader, and a master of linguistics. If you convince him to be emotionally invested in your cause, he will fight for it to the bitter end.
