Culture and Cultural Heritage

Curiosity and Exploration

Catfolk culture encourages curiosity, prompting catfolk to go on daring adventures into the unknown or simply meditate to contemplate their life. A better understanding of the world and a better understanding of oneself are seen as equally important goals in a catfolk's life.

Tribalism

Catfolk culture values community and the needs of their tribe over all else. While the importance of self-discovery encourages individualism and self-expression, catfolk are expected to set these things aside when they must serve the tribe's demands.   They also often emphasize the safety that a tribe's cohesiveness brings. This either is to keep some particularly adventerous tribesman straying too far into a dangerous situation on their own or to make sure the tribe is ready to act as a safety net if a tribesman's curiosity does land them in a tight spot.

Luck

While not as closely associated with luck as halflings, catfolk are known to have relatively good luck.   A popular superstition is that "catfolk have nine lives." Sometimes, this is taken literally, but most of the time, the phrase refers to their ability to escape life-threatening situations.   Another superstition is that black catfolk bring bad luck to people they come across.
