Tenets of Faith

There is no distinct temple or holy city for worshipers of Alizar, but rather every piece of land is seen as a temple of sorts. All land is holy. Livestock is also considered holy as it is a vital part of the agricultural process. There are, however, temples in larger cities devoted to the First Order, where worshipers leave offerings of wheat stocks, seeds, and sometimes handfuls of soil in devotion to the God of Agriculture.   Most rituals are performed daily through caring for the land, and every time they eat food. To worshipers of Alizar, food is not just food. It is a blessing from Alizar that in turn blesses the human who consumes. Every meal is a holy experience and no food is ever wasted. It is believed that when crops are not successful, Alizar is punishing his worshipers for not properly honoring the earth and the food that grows from it.

Quotes

“A fertile soil alone does not carry agriculture to perfection -- ‘tis the hard work of men which brings bounty to the harvest.” ~Baharit the Shepherd, Saint of Alizar   “A farmer is the most noble employment of man.” ~Borizar, Herald of Alizar   “To turn soil with respect for the earth is to reap a wealth far greater than gold.” ~Kyozrah the Farmer, Saint of Alizar

Holidays

Celebrations are held four times per year on the last day of each season. The holiest day of the year is known as Harvest Day, which is the first day of Spring. Worshipers believe that the way the land is treated on this day largely determines how good the crop yield will be for the rest of the year.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Alizar is worshiped primarily by farmers, shepherds, and other common folk. Worshipers revere the Earth element. They often also worship Celeste, Goddess of Stars, as the information they receive from the stars is vital to raising successful crops.
