Golden Flower

WIP - Summer Camp quality. This will continue to be edited during July and likely after the prizes adjudication.CW: mention of sexual themes and use of stimulant drugs, not detailed
The golden flower is a small yellow flower that lives in the wild in the Samuaxi islands.   The local population learnt to cultivate the pna to harvest its precious pollen that is an important ingredient for a lot of gourmet dishes and is told to have aphrodisiac properties highly sought after by the wealthy population in Kithanda.   The flower is small and very delicate, with a little bell shaped crown that protects two long stamens that are loaded with fragrant dark golden pollen.  In the wild it grows exclusively at the base of tall XXX trees among the moss in the undergrowth.   Because of the very specific conditions and location in which it grows, it is quite difficult to farm, but the local population managed to create farms where the trees are simulated by poles and stumps covered with a dark canopy. This seems to stimulate the growth of the moss that is the favourite substrate for the flower.   Another crucial step of the cultivation of the flower is the harvesting, as the pollen is in minimal quantity and can only be harvested by hand with special tiny tweezers. The harvesting is a long and laborious process and needs to be carried withing the short flowering season of the flower, at the start of the warmest season. The stems are collected in small containers one by one and usually are sold in batches of 5 in each vial.   The spice is so powerful that 1 stem is usually enough to season 1-2 meals for a family of 4.   During the non flowering season, instead, the leaves and pedicels of the flowers are cut to collect the latex that has several stimulant properties, in particular has an aphrodiasiac and stamina enhancing  effect and is therefore seeked out by wealthy customers and sex workers.   A single flower can produce about a rice grain size of solidified latex and a popular use is to melt 1-3 of these grains and mix it with an hot beverage or keep it in the mouth to be absorbed by the oral mucose about one hour before the expected performance.   Medical uses of the drug are currently explored by Kithanda Academy and several independent researchers.
