Inisfal

Inisfal, or the Island of Destiny, is an important strategic property of The Empire of Albion . It is located fifty miles to the west of Albion , and is notable as the only place in the world where natural gates to Faerie form. It is from Inisfal that the Empire gains access to trade with the Sidhe.

Inisfal also has the largest population of Changelings in the world.

The Lord High Protector

The Lord High Protector of Inisfal is appointed by the Empress, and given nearly unchecked power over Inisfal and its inhabitants. Inisfal has historically chafed under Albion rule, and the Lord High Protector is not a popular figure there at the best of times. In addition to maintaining control over the island, the Lord High Protector is chiefly responsible for diplomatic and trade negotiations with Faerie. The Lord High Protector during the Dragon Wars was his grace Charles Grenville, Duke of Avondale. It is rumored that Grenville engineered a bargain with the Sidhe where the empire traded a large number of artists to Faerie, in exchange for certain extremely powerful weapons. The government denies that they shipped hundreds of people into virtual slavery in Faerie, but it is widely believed to be true in Inisfal, and Grenville is particularly hated there. 

The current Lord High Protector is his Grace Alexander Harrow, Duke of Obarchurn.
