The Omi Alliance was a renowned yakuza clan hailing from the vibrant city of Osaka in the west of Japan. Established in the shadows of history, this formidable organization has etched its name as the mightiest yakuza group in the Land of the Rising Sun, far surpassing even the famed Tojo Clan of the eastern Kanto region with a significant margin in terms of manpower.
As of 2006, the Omi Alliance boasted a colossal force of approximately 35,000 devoted men and was further divided into 120 loyal families, each one playing a pivotal role in the clan's intricate tapestry of power.
According to esteemed writings, penned by the venerable Omi Chairman Masaru Watase, who penned a letter addressed to the Osaka Prefectural Police in 2019, the Omi Alliance traces its roots back to a time over a century ago, when it was first founded in the year 1801. Throughout the years, the Alliance has grown in strength and influence, securing its position as an emblem of authority and respect within the clandestine world of the yakuza.
History
In December of 1988, the infamous Omi Alliance found itself entangled in the tumultuous Empty Lot dispute, a conflict that would come to shape its trajectory in the years to come.
Fast forward to the 21st century, and the Omi Alliance's name resonates even louder. Among its ranks is a prominent figure named Terada, a devoted yakuza with a desire to aid Kazuma Kiryu in thwarting the ambitions of Kyohei Jingu. Terada's strong bond with Shintaro Kazama, however, leads him to face betrayal from his own yakuza brethren. In a daring move, he switches allegiance, joining the esteemed Tojo Clan, eventually rising to become its Fifth Chairman.
The year 2006 proved a turning point for the Alliance. Terada's attempt to forge peace between the Tojo Clan and the Omi Alliance backfires, igniting a fierce internal conflict. The ensuing war with the Tojo Clan sees the fall of the Alliance's Fifth Chairman, Jin Goda, and his son, Ryuji Goda.
By 2012, the Omi Alliance finds itself under the leadership of Tsubasa Kurosawa. With Kurosawa's health declining, the Tojo Clan becomes wary of potential chaos and seeks to fortify its position. Kurosawa, driven by a perilous scheme, plants numerous subordinates to infiltrate and destabilize the Tojo Clan. His ultimate goal is to assassinate Daigo Dojima and pave the way for his son, Masato Aizawa, to reign over a new yakuza order. However, Kurosawa's grand design is thwarted when the Tojo Clan, along with the support of the Ousaka Enterprises, Watase Family, Yamagasa Family, and Kitakata Family, unite against his men and successfully dismantle his plan.
Sometime before 2019, treachery runs rampant within the Tojo Clan, as Masumi Arakawa betrays the organization, exposing them to the authorities. Seizing the opportunity, the Omi Alliance seizes control of Kamurocho, a significant power play that leaves a mark on the yakuza landscape. Meanwhile, Masaru Watase, a key figure within the Alliance, finds himself incarcerated but is later released.
Disbandment
In the year 2019, Watase makes his return to the Omi headquarters, alongside Daigo, the head of the Tojo Clan. Together, they announce a groundbreaking decision to dissolve both the Omi Alliance and the Tojo Clan, reconstituting them as a legitimate security company rooted in Osaka. A letter affirming their disbandment is promptly submitted to the police, sealing the fate of two legendary yakuza clans, concluding a chapter in the tumultuous history of the Omi Alliance.
