Atlantean
The ancient city of Atlantis sank into sea a long time ago, but contrary to popular belief this did not cause its inhabitants to grow gills and take up life under the sea. Instead, they relocated to high in the Andes Mountains, an area so remote that they were almost completely cut off from other humans for thousands of years, until an American explorer discovered their hidden city in the 1950s. Since that time, the people of New Atlantis have begun trading with and occasionally visiting the outside world.
Although genetically human, the Atlanteans isolation from the outside world has allowed them to innovate scientifically and develop psychic powers nearly unheard of in the world at large. Between their fantastic inventions and their ability to manipualte reality with their minds, there is very little manual labor in New Atlantis. As a result, Atlanteans tend to be frailer than normal humans. They are also taller on average and most have pale skin.

In Atlantean society, marriages end after a set period of time. Once the term of the marriage is over, the couple can reaffirm their contract or go their separate ways.
