Underground Exploration
General Summary
Below the The Last Stand we're discovered by a group of half-orcs that wisk Freyja Rahezura away to deal with a surprise issue.
Agol scouts ahead and findsthat there's another large waterfall ahead that he's hesitant to cross on his own. We all gather and find a deep chasm that the massive waterfall flows down at least 500ft. as Bork drops a large stone with a Daylight spell cast on it. Below, a massive form blocks the light shed by the stone as it sinks into the pool below.
As we continue to explore Rizza takes a swing with her warhammer to break away some of the raw gemstones we've found but nobody succeeds in collecting any before Bork spots another vegit moving in the darkness. We persue with violent intent but it scuttles it's tiny body into a large crevice to escape. Without thinking I cast Break to try to trap it but the spell has a much greater effect than I anticipated and nearly the entire wall shifts - crushing the vegit brutally and causing fear among the other vegit that are nearby.
Agol loads his firearm and Bork & I grab the two remaining fey insects while we debate what to do next. I release the one I'm holding and chase it, following it right into a Giant Ameoba and an Ameoba Swarm. Turns out the vegit had ducked around the corner and is still in the room but it hid so well we didn't notice it.
Rizza finds the vexgit camp that we also overlooked as we passed by. We split up to explore the remaining area within the cave and Tilly awakens a strange mushroom creature. While figuring out how to deal with it, I launch myself accidentally into the swift-moving river towards the waterfall! DRAMA!
Bork uses his Entangle spell to try catching me mid-stream and it slows me down enough that I'm able to reach the edge of the water.
