To the Hoard!

General Summary

After surviving the spiders we recovered Reb's body...

We discuss the next possible mission for the group to take on. Flower suggests that we should head north, after the scavengers that Phoevus sent back to her old lair for her hoard.

Tilly & Flower think it should be a priority to search for the group so we agree that we won't check in with the skreet village to report the information about Reb until we've resolved the next mission. We soar via Goob and it only takes us two days airborn to get into the vicinity we should be searching in. Freyja shows off her 'eagle-eyes' as we fly north and she sees a dried riverbed with a small sled abandoned off to one side.

I try to toss the sled up the slope so we can get it back to the skreet, but I accidentally break it. As we continue to track the footprints, we enter a ravine where we all manage to acknowledge but not prepare of an ambush. As we round a bend in the ravine we can see three skreet hung up by their ankles behind a rough five-foot barrier. As we try to move ahead, a mighty blast of icy cold air hits our group and immediately kills Tilly. With a strange burst of sunlight, somehow Flower put life back into Tilly's body and saved her soul from moving on to the next world.

During the insuing combat we all embarass ourselves. I swing like a moron trying to hit the damn drake but don't manage to connect in any meaningful way. Thankfully my companions are much more efficient than myself and take the beast to the ground. Putting my one skill to use, I decide to craft trinkets from the corpse as momentos of our incredible victory. Skinning the beast seemed like a good idea, too, so I did.

I skinned and scavaged everything I could from the body of the frost drake, plus we located the beasts lair and found it's hoard! We spent the night a the base of the mountain and began our airborn journey back to the skreet village in the morning. When we arrived, Phoevus was relatively polite and had the decency to feign dismay at the deaths of her villagers but tipped her hand by directly asking us if we found what the skreet had been searching for. Her eagerness was obvious and it remained clear that she'd sent them to find something for her - what that might've been remains a mystery to us but I imagine it's probably a good thing for the skreet that she doesn't have it.
