Session 4

General Summary

After doing our best to rescue our employers and the poor malnourished prisoner from the basement, we set out after a brief rest at the cannibal house.
We find a taxidermyed green-skinned humanoid mounted on the wall and a lot of other really creepy trophies from their kills. There are a couple crafting kits (see loot below) but otherwise very little of use or value inside. As we prepare to hitch the horses and leave, Rissa sees some sparkle in the distance over a small hill and checks it out. This is where the cannibals dumped what was considered garbage or useless.
There were approximately 500gp worth of baubles that Rissa & Bork find - small statuettes, fancy combs, even a few paintings.
Rissa finds a rough looking necklace adorned with claws and animal teeth, with a non-descript rock pendant.
Watching me try to put the heads of these cannibals on spikes, Samguise steps in after seeing me fail horribly. We set up the two remaining heads and one body on spikes in front of the house as a display to ensure anyone nearby knows they're all dead. Miles & Etta have the pleasure of setting fire to the house. Rissa bandages Briggal so his severed arm stops bleeding and Samguise uses his healing magic to restore some of his vitality - his arm is still gone, however.
It's roughly three hours for us to get back to the bridge. Samguise knows enough about architecture and bridges to disable the trap and make the bridge safe to cross again.
After we rest for the night, we head out. Everyone is forced to acknowledge that I have somehow sprouted 2 tentacles from my lower back overnight - they're long, nearly as strong as my arms, and can reach things nearly fifteen feet away! Everyone finds it extremely strange until Rissa thankfully speaks up and tells us that it's pretty common in her tribe for strange changes to occur rather suddenly. I'm just glad I didn't grow a second head like someone else she knew!
Three days on the road pass uneventfully while we heal and continue to regroup from what we saw and experienced at the cannibal house.
While traveling, Freyja sees a quartet of small, stocky folk roughly 100ft away. They seem to be running towards us pretty aggressively. The guy leading htem has red skin, a scruffy beard, and lynx-like tufts of hair on his pointed ears. Odra guestures to me that he wants to butt heads and although I don't really understand why, the concept is straightforward enough that I think I can do it.
The red-skinned person in a loin cloth launches himself into the air as he charges forward and manages to connect with a brutal headbutt against me - which I didn't even try to avoid since Odra pantomimed something similar to me only a few seconds beforehand.
By this point Rissa was out of sight, probably sneaking in for a closer look before participating. Samguise gets on his new mount, Batty White, back at the carts, and Bork moves towards us from his spot ahead of everyone. Tilly is trying to decide whether or not this is a battle and honestly I'm not totally sure.
Then the red-man pushes Odra aside to let me greet him and I kneel down to headbutt him but clumsily fail. He chuckles before bashing me again. It hurts a lot, but it's sort of fun.
Freyja sees me laughing and decides to clock the little guy with a right-cross - connecting right across the face but leaving herself open to an attack - and he headbutts her, too. Unfortunately, she seems to be taking this seriously and enters a rage.
I hear Samguise singing from near the carts.
I shout at Freyja to stop, trying to intimidate her but I'm off my game - probably due to the blunt force trauma to my noggin.
Supposedly he didn't hear me so Sam looses an arrow at the little red guy while airborn and Bork shouts at him to stop. Thankfully, Freyja falls unconscious from the repeated headbutts and she won't be so angry when she wakes up.
Iniheh (redbeard) smacks me again and I sit on my ass, waving to signal my conceit. Thankfully I see Rissa approach, hopefully she's able to resolve this because she and Tilly talk gooder than me.
I can see Samguise Bushgrub riding his dire bat, still singing and I think he's trying to intimidate the little folk standing in the distance. Once we give in to them, they seem really disappointed and clearly dislike the half-orcs. Bork decides to persue them and prove our toughness, headbutting Iniheh. Bork manages to calm their aggression by meeting them in combat.
Iniheh thrusts a couple of dead rabbits at Bork Borque while Odra does their best to try to communicate that Bork should accept the gift of rabbits and Bork returns the guesture by offering them some of his own meat. It was a very diplomatic exchange.
We all cheer and the skreet start wrestling then eventually enter a 'mating-pile'. Everyone turns away, except me. It's quite a strange thing, in my opinion. Tilly wants to know if Odra will be okay, but he's already joining the mating-pile and seems to be doing just fine, even with just one leg.
I wave at the wild little guys and say bye before returning to the cart. Bork explains to Freyja that they weren't trying to kill us but rather they were roughly trying to befriend us!
Odra breaks away from the pile to claim the necklace that Rissa found among the trophies at the cannibal house and gives it to Iniheh who then runs over and greets Rissa by headbutting her. We leave Odra with the quartet of skreet, screwing in the dirt by the side of the road. I might be a little jealous of them.
We resume travel for another two uneventful days.
