Brady

Bradizat of the Rhakni Clan, more commonly known as Brady, is a lizardfolk merchant. The owner of Bradizat's Public Goods for the Public Good and a newer member of the Talon Daggers, they are an ally of the Puppets of Chaos adventuring party.

History

Brady was born and raised by the Rhakni Clan within the Alverican swamp of Tidewake Bog. While their brethren elected to stay home and raise their own kin, Brady decided to venture out into the rest of the country, seeing a purpose beyond raising a family of their own. This ended up becoming Bradizat's Public Goods for the Public Good, a wagon that sold loot and magical goods they came across. The wagon itself was originally an abandoned Ediburg Militia carriage dumped off near Tidewake Bog. Brady took the time to renovate it, making it their own.
Brady was first encountered by the party at the base of Mount Zylrai. They had been collecting random assortments of loot and lost items to sell in their shop, including a familiar white cape. Meeting the group, Brady offered to take the group back with them to Scourwall.
Eventually, the crew made it by boat to Scourwall. As they exited the ship, however, Brady's wagon capsized and fell off of the bridge, sinking into the ocean. The event left Brady distraught, but Hush pointed them in the direction of the Talon Daggers, a group that Hush said would have ample use for Brady's services.
After the death of King Lithuin, Hush ended up heading back to Scourwall with Edie and Belhoy. He would reconvene with Brady and help formulate a plan that would benefit them greatly. After purchasing property with the money Millicus bestowed to Hush, Brady was able to turn their original concept of a shop into a permanent goods store, giving it the same name as their fallen wagon. Beneath its surface, the Talon Daggers would help clean out and develop an underground system to house the syndicate's operations. Known as the Sheathe, it was accessible through numerous different secret points, but perhaps the most utilized one was through a hidden elevator shaft in the back of Brady's store.
Brady would accompany Hush on numerous outings in the city of Scourwall, often finding themselves in conflict with a strange group of individuals looking to capture Hush. The group would eventually come to be known as the Silencers, a task force initiated by the Consortium to root out the cause of the increasing abyssal rifts throughout Heriqar.

Appearance

Brady is well-known for their specially-commissioned eyeglasses, green scales and yellow horns. Prior to joining the Talon Daggers, they wore a green vest with the logo of their wagon on the breast pocket. They took on red robes to fit in with the group. Brady also received some scars as a result of their encounters with the Silencers.

Personality

Brady demonstrates friendliness and optimism to everyone they first meet, often willing to help those in need. They seem to care a lot about their business, and after watching their wagon fall off of a boat and into the sea, demonstrated unfathomable grief. Every random trinket and piece of loot they find on their travels is valuable to them, and as such, the items gathered often find themselves on Brady's store's shelves.
Brady often harvests products to sell from corpses. While choosing to never desecrate a grave, Brady believes that selling the harvested items "yields purpose beyond the life of their former owner." Brady often regards these items as extensions of their past owners, and make notes of the people they retrieve the items from.
On top of the mannerisms lizardfolk exhibit in their speech patterns, Brady often misuses and confuses figures of speech, having once told the party that "they'll burn that bridge when they get to it."
While not typically discussed, Brady considers themselves a family lizard. They take many trips throughout the year to visit their mother, grandmother, and brothers of their clan, bringing with them trinkets and loot from their journeys.

Trivia

• Brady has astigmatism. They commissioned glasses from a Scourwall mage to aid in improving their eyesight.
• The concept for Brady came from a joke one-shot called Publix of Chaos. The impromptu (and noncanon) session revolved around numerous characters working in a Publix grocery store in the middle of the woods. One of the NPC's was a burnt-out worker named Brady.
• To coincide with this, Brady's shop name and their original outfit are references to the one-shot.
