James Knothill
One of the town guard brought along on The Redcap Ritual, he was close with Kathrine, and was there with her when she fell. He is comrade-in-arms with John, both of whom have sworn themselves to Claudia.
He has dedicated himself to tactics, and strategy in the months since. He hasn't made grand progress, but he has begun learning chess. He is unmarried, he has a younger sister who was wed a year ago, and has a young son. He is seeking promotion into squad-leader.
