    The Era of Wilderness
    Era beginning/end

Shortly after the ruler of All Earth arrived, the world began changing. What once was a smooth unspecified energy field was now branching out and expanding into a continent surrounded by water. Being Perfectly circular at first but with the thousands of domains being created simultaneously, it was ripped into several continents, creating much of the same topology we see today.   The force exerted upon the once symmetrical Ley Field caused it to be unevenly divided and warped.   The first life appeared shortly thereafter. A singular plant at the bottom of the sea. It began working in tandem with natural gas and mineral pockets to synthesize elements immediately.   This intrigued Eon and inspired him to create complex ecosystems with different type of colloidal fractions of rock and earth, pockets of different minerals, elements and such.   Suddenly the continents filled with various creatures, their alignment being that of Eon's siblings. Either Good, Neutral or Evil.   There were now complex ecosystems of strange and exotic organisms in place. But some of them intrigued Eon more than others. Even though they were quite different, they were strangely similar to him and his siblings. But all of them were Evil, this worried and displeased Eon.   So he used some of his power and imbued the creatures with it, giving them free will, not forcing them into alignments. This however, impaired their ability to multiply. To alleviate this, he alotted them all a Mote of Power, tying it to the Ley Field, essentially empowering the Field wherever the creatures went. The alotment seemed to have a great impact on the properties of the first generations and their immediate adaptability to their environment. Decreasing with every generation.   This is the origin of all the current major races of Herastra. And the start of The Era of Wilderness.   In this era, much of the most common magic spells were discovered or scribed onto the world. With the gods enlisting the creatures of Eon to do their bidding, coercing or bribing them into doing them favors. Eon, knowing the creatures acted out of free will and his siblings acting according to their alignments, allowed this.

Roan Ravenoff and the destruction of Tarras Barrenan
    Disaster / Destruction

In the The Era of First Kings, poweful wizards waged war over the continent of Baran'Thal   One of these wizards was Roan Ravenoff. He was a deeply spiritual man who mostly kept to himself.   When his city of Tarras Barrenan was eventually sieged by The Elven King Sarathar the Wise. Roan's family and children were murdered in cold blood before his eyes.   It is said he used his final measure of life to inscribe the spell Roan's Paw onto the world.   Invoking The Spirits of All Earth (direct translation) to manipulate The Weave, he augmented Maximilian's Earthen Grasp into a giant bear's paw and annihilated the city, including himself and The Elven King.   This day has since become a day of sorrow and grief and the inofficial national day of prayer for Baran'Thal. It always falls on a Joransdag.   The site of the immense destruction has been declared off-limits by the Baran'Thal regime and armed guards patrol there every day and every night.

    The Era of First Kings
    Era beginning/end

Within five hundred cycles of The Era of Wilderness. The more magically attuned creatures of the world had begun to develop minds complex enough to wield simple magic.   Magic allowed them to construct shelters, hold animals and construct systems of worship around the gods granting them additional magic.   These simple communities quickly started to grow. Trade sprouted and suddenly a tribe didn't need to diversify their talents as much and could focus on specializing in certain professions.   As the tribes grew more and more dependant on each other they moved their settlements closer to each other. This gave rise to the prevalence of roaming bands of bandits instead of single thieves.   The tribes decided to band together and build fortifications with the earnings of their collective trading. Having an offensively powerful Wizard in your tribe gave you immense bargaining power and thus the arms race had begun.   But having no way of explaining the seemingly random responses from the gods. Determining responsibility quickly became an issue and a system of a single responsible individual per tribe was soon adopted and called a Shaman.   If the fortifications broke or the wizards failed to make the crops grow, it would surely be the Shaman's fault seeing as his responsibility was to make sure the Wizards had what they needed.   Over the years, these settlements fell or grew, fused and split apart. Until four large factions had formed. The Shaman's of these factions, based on the fact that they'd managed to expand their domain where no other's had managed, were considered to have won the eternal favour of the gods. A new title was invented to describe such a person. King   Thus the Era of First Kings had begun approximately year 5000 but no one knows for sure anymore. The First Kings were:   The Elven King - Sarathar the Wise, Protector of the Realm of Baran'Thal   The King in the Mountain - Thoremar the Steadfast, Protector of the Realm of Harrish   The King of the Plains - Usethar the Brave, Protector of the Realm of Karadath, which entails Charon, Novon, Pernicles and Tar'Veil.   The King of the Deep - Merathar the Great, Supreme ruler of the Seas.   Beneath the Kings quickly a plethora of different ranks were established, military or otherwise. The non-military ranks were as follows, in decending order:

    Elves Mountaindwellers Plainswalkers Mermen
    Aman Delthar Great Aremar Wavefinder
    Uth'Aman Urethar Aremar Shoregiver
    Witchmaster High Breaker Aremis Sweller
    Forethar Mountaineer Duke Bottomer
    Agar Rival Baron Sub-Bottomer
    Uth'Agar Profane Thane Thyne
Whereas the military ones granted much the same privileges but were as follows.
    Elves Mountaindwellers Plainswalkers Mermen
    Grand Apather Delthar'Um General Seaking
    Ocularus - Brigadier Piercer
    Fervent Urethar'Um Lieutenant -
    - Um'Ethar Major Cruiser
    Devoted Ethar Captain Harpoonman
    Dragoon Profane'Um Corporal Thyne
