Roan Ravenoff and the destruction of Tarras Barrenan
    Disaster / Destruction

In the The Era of First Kings, poweful wizards waged war over the continent of Baran'Thal   One of these wizards was Roan Ravenoff. He was a deeply spiritual man who mostly kept to himself.   When his city of Tarras Barrenan was eventually sieged by The Elven King Sarathar the Wise. Roan's family and children were murdered in cold blood before his eyes.   It is said he used his final measure of life to inscribe the spell Roan's Paw onto the world.   Invoking The Spirits of All Earth (direct translation) to manipulate The Weave, he augmented Maximilian's Earthen Grasp into a giant bear's paw and annihilated the city, including himself and The Elven King.   This day has since become a day of sorrow and grief and the inofficial national day of prayer for Baran'Thal. It always falls on a Joransdag.   The site of the immense destruction has been declared off-limits by the Baran'Thal regime and armed guards patrol there every day and every night.
