Drotos
Drotos is a seaside kingdom in Primordial Hell which was primarily populated by commonkin. It's ruler was chosen by the previous ruler via a meritocracy, so most of its kings have been heroes of the kingdom. They have a large naval force and excel in cross-seas trading.

Towers
Drotos's architecture style features several common motifs associated with the ocean, such as sea shell patterns and waves. They use these to decorate their buildings, which most often take a vertical shape. Drotos's capital is often called the "City of a Thousand Spires" due to the number of building jutting into the sky. It is hard to say where this fashion came from. Common belief is that it comes from the nation's tie to the sea and the building of light houses. Regardless, the popularity of these towers grew with time until even many common houses and businesses took after the shape.Food
Seafood is the primary source of protein in the Drotan diet as their fishing industry is robust and their farmland is small. Fish can be eaten raw or cooked, the former usually during summer and the latter more common in winter. Traditional Drotan food is usually heavily salted and fish sauce is a common condiment. Herbs and spices are mostly imported so many traditional dishes aren't heavily seasoned and instead rely on the natural flavors of the ingredients. Restaurants are a common fad in the city, especially imported cuisine which most Drotans can't make easily at home. Breakfast and Dinner are considered the two communal meals of the day, eaten with friends and family, while lunch is typically more private since most adults are out at work when it is eaten.Meritocracy
Drotans believe in a meritocracy. Despite being a mostly commonkin kingdom, their belief that people should be judged on their merits has made them extremely accepting of the other species who enter their country. Nepotism is deeply frowned upon and is in fact illegal or otherwise banned in most forms of business. The meritocracy tends to be well rounded, where people's sociability and ethics are also taken into consideration, not just performance at a task.Cats
Cats are extremely popular in Drotos. The port city stores large quantities of food for long periods of time and food products are often shipped over great distances so small cats were domesticated to protect these resources. They eventually became home companions. Street cats are generally well liked and cared for and neighborhoods often share five or six cats. Killing a cat is a serious crime and can lead to prison time if it is intentional. There is a major cat cult as well which depicts cats as sacred creatures and even common citizens usually follow some of their customs, like leaving fish scraps outside their door every seventh eve.Assets
