Commonkin
Commonkin were one of the most populous species in Primordial Hell. They are considered less physically powerful than most of the other species but their cultures tend to value children more so their population growth often over takes their death rates. They also have a smaller aptitude for magic than species like the Elyr or Vampires and are susceptible to illness.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Commonkin are visibly very similar to humans with rounded ears, four limbs, pale pink to dark brown skin, and curly to straight hair. Their hair color often comes in more colors than humans, though, including pinks, blues, and silvers. Similarly, their eyes come in more pigments as well, like red and purple. They typically stand between five and six feet and have mild sexual dimorphism.
Genetics and Reproduction
Commonkin reproduce through sexual reproduction between "male" and "female" sex organs similar to humans. The gestation period also lasts about 9 months (3 months on the Hellish calendar).
Growth Rate & Stages
Commonkin age similar to human children until the age of 16 or 17. At that point they have the appearance and mentality of a older teen until they are 30. They are considered true adults at the age of 30. They may continue to age similar to humans at any point after this if stress or environmental factors trigger their Moratia. Commonkin are more likely to have their Moratia triggered than other species in Primordial Hell.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Commonkin are omnivorous and can thrive in hunter-gatherer groups or agricultural societies. They cannot consume a variety of specific plants and animal parts, though, as they may be poisonous to them.

Social Structure
Commonkin on their basic level form close family social groups with a heavy emphasis on the relationship between parents and children. Small communities will often have extended versions of this social structure where age groups play specific roles. In societies, Commonkin often organize themselves by specialized skills and have a hierarchy which can be governed by a representative population or a single family.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Commonkin are found throughout Primordial Hell. They often gravitate towards valleys or coastlines and live on the surface.
Civilization and Culture
Gender Ideals
Commonkin have formed a variety of cultures over the eons, each with their own gender ideals. Many of these cultures have organized their genders based on identifiable sexual organs at birth, though it is uncommon for a Commonkin culture to be against reassigning gender at a later age.

Major historical figures included King Venthys of Erinth and King Arax of Drotas.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Interspecies relations vary greatly from region and era. Much of the Kingdom of Erinth's history was riddle with conflict between the Commonkin and they Elyr who inhabited the nearby forests. In later eras, however, Erinth sported strong ties with the Elyr eventually leading to a natural assimilation of their two cultures.
