Hitari
Descendants of the inhabitants of Basara, who build a large dam and aqueducts to channel the mountains water for agriculture, but lost their ancestral home when the dwarves disappeared and the great worm Samira came and destroyed their farms.
Now the tribe wanders the southern, reaches of the Kathlam desert, skirting the cursed valleys and into the land of the giants, before traveling back to the Ondessa and its surrounding lands. While the clan longs to retake their ancient home, it is not something they have high hopes of achieving. The clan generally considers themselves traders and caravaneers between the far lands, for though the journey is dangerous, it is safer than the life of a raider.
The Hitari are often run into Chimera’s of the southern desert, as many of them live there, in truth they feel a certain kinship with them, as neither of them has a home. Thus they have for many years nurtured friendly relations with the chimera of the region. Often trading with them and even traveling with them for extended periods of time, in return for food and the protection of the traveling camp from predators. In turn, many of the Chimera are happy to offer them small scraps that might otherwise have been killed for by hunters. This in turn has naturally lead them to be protective of their extended kin, and those who hunt chimera should hope not to meet traveling.
The Hitari has two positions of power within the clan, one being the Khundra, as a hereditary position, and the Akuilia, which a position is given by the Khundra, the Akuilia is a diplomat of a sort, who stays behind in the places where the Hitari trade, to secure good deals for the clan while they are away.
Lead by Khundra Timur, who has led them for 4 years, after his predecessor deemed himself to old lead, taking the honorable option the previous Khundra has stayed behind with a particular Chimera group to help defend his old friends in his closing days. Timur has done much to increase their trade network but has sadly failed to secure trade routes to Stygia, a failure that has cost his tribe dearly.
