Hrolleifs Jarldom

Hrolleif guard the West centre of Skjoldvegg, his fortress stands high in the mountains and is a bullwark against the south. The word on the commoners mouths believe that he suffers from madness, a Mage, Bron Ivarson, has arrived in his court to aid but it appears to no avail. He has begun to decree strange laws and punish people for the smallest of crimes. The news of his madness may give the Grecians confidence to attack his Jarldom to gain a foothold in the Shieldlands. Hvideg Forest is home to one of the larger communities of Firbolgs who live amongst the great white oak trees found only in the centre of the shieldlands. These white oaks are considered sacred and the sap from the oak is used in rituals by the Firbolgs, to bring about hallucinations and great connections to the spirits. Harverj is Hrolleifs fortress, it has stood unyielding to any attempts to take it. Well-provisioned and well-defended, it is a bulwark against the Grecians. The city is not considered a beautiful place to live and almost all of the population spend their time in the grasslands to the north of the Jalrdom where the farmlands are.
