Tower of Ardim
Perched on a rugged outcrop overlooking Leviathan Bay, the Tower of Ardim is a slender, looming structure that serves as both home and fortress for the reclusive wizard Suva Teshis.
Weathered by the passage of time, the tower’s black stone walls bear the marks of years of magical experimentation and ancient battles. Suva Teshis, a Shaper of formidable power, has dwelled here since the War of Salvation in 2264, when he fought alongside the armies of Forbin. Now well into his eighties, the wizard’s mastery of Shaping has only deepened, and his influence over the surrounding lands remains considerable.
The Tower of Ardim, though not large, is a marvel of Shaping. Its narrow, tapering structure defies conventional architecture, with sections suspended seemingly without support and stairs spiralling around the outer walls. Crystal windows glisten along its heights, each reflecting a faint, otherworldly light even on the darkest of nights. The interior is a labyrinth of twisting hallways and shifting rooms, and those who enter without Suva’s invitation risk becoming hopelessly lost as the wizard whimsically rearranges the tower’s layout through his magic. Hidden laboratories and repositories of arcane knowledge are scattered throughout, though their contents are fiercely guarded.
The ground floor of the tower is dominated by an expansive workshop, where Suva manipulates materials and shapes them into new forms. Golems of clay, stone, and metal stand motionless in the shadows, awaiting the wizard’s command to spring to life. Half-finished constructs and strange mechanical devices litter the chamber, evidence of Suva’s relentless pursuit of mastery over both life and matter. It is said that he has even succeeded in animating the dead, and that silent, watchful figures sometimes patrol the grounds under the cover of darkness.
Rumours swirl that Suva’s power and reclusiveness have made him a target of fear and intrigue. Some believe that the wizard has uncovered forgotten secrets of Shaping, long thought lost to the ages, while others whisper that he has begun to slip into madness, his prolonged exposure to such potent magic eroding his mind.
In recent months, strange sightings around the tower have increased. Figures made of earth and rock have been seen patrolling the cliffs, and odd lights flash in the night sky. Some speculate that Suva is preparing for something; whether it is a final, cataclysmic experiment or a bid to consolidate his power further remains uncertain.
