Sargir’s Keep

Sargir’s Keep, located on the rocky southwestern shore of Teros Minor, commands a hidden cove close to the shipping lanes of the Mabon Channel. Its position makes it an ideal staging ground for piracy, giving Ontann the Swift and his band of marauders direct access to rich merchant routes while keeping them out of the immediate reach of any authorities from the nearby port of Elinann.

With its sheer cliffs concealing the entrance to the sheltered bay, Sargir’s Keep is practically invisible from the sea unless one knows exactly where to look. This natural obscurity, combined with Ontann’s tactical cunning, allows his pirates to strike swiftly and retreat to safety before any response can be mustered. The keep itself is a dilapidated stone structure, barely holding up against the relentless sea winds and salt spray. Despite its age and disrepair, Ontann’s crew has reinforced key areas, ensuring the stronghold can withstand minor assaults and keep prying eyes away from their lair.   Ontann has expanded operations in this location, using the hidden caves and narrow inlets around the keep to store stolen goods and house additional vessels. The natural acoustics of the cavernous bays amplify any sound, making it nearly impossible for intruders to approach undetected. Within the hold itself, Ontann’s private chambers are situated in what remains of the original keep’s tower, providing a panoramic view of the channel and any approaching ships.   Rumour has it that Ontann’s rise to power is not entirely his own doing. Whispers from the docks of Elinann suggest that the pirate is in league with a powerful merchant family in the city, who have grown wealthy by fencing his stolen goods and feeding him information on valuable shipments.   This arrangement keeps Ontann flush with supplies and weapons, while his partners in Elinann line their pockets with gold. However, such an alliance is not without its risks. Should Ontann be exposed, his allies in the city would likely face severe retribution from the authorities, making it a fragile but lucrative relationship - one that Ontann guards fiercely.
