Harwal's Tower

Harwal’s Tower rises starkly above the southern coast of Jalussan, its slender, weathered spire a solitary sentinel overlooking the turbulent waters of the Hayil Strait. Named for Harwal, the legendary mage who first made it his home centuries ago, the tower has seen many occupants come and go, but few have left a mark as significant as its current master, Vesman Turonn.   The tower itself is a study in quiet grandeur. Built from pale grey stone that has withstood the ravages of time and weather, it tapers sharply toward the sky, its walls etched with arcane symbols that shimmer faintly in the moonlight. A spiral staircase winds its way up through the narrow interior, leading to Turonn’s personal quarters at the top. There, high above the ground, the wizard is said to conduct his experiments, his incantations and bursts of elemental power sometimes visible as flashes of light or shimmering auras from below.   Turonn, a master Channeller, is capable of wielding destructive flames, freezing blasts, and kinetic forces with equal ease, making him a formidable figure even among his fellow mages.   Yet it is not Turonn’s mastery of Channeling alone that has drawn the attention of the magical community. Rumours persist that he is in possession of an ancient artefact, an item of great power that was unearthed from the ruins of a long-lost citadel. The artefact, said to have the potential to amplify a mage’s abilities to unprecedented levels, has been the subject of intense interest and concern.   The Wizards of Asren Tes have made repeated overtures to Turonn, urging him to hand the artefact over to them for safekeeping. Turonn, however, has refused to relinquish the artefact, citing concerns over its potential misuse. His refusal has sparked tensions between him and the wizards of Asren Tes, and while no open conflict has erupted, the relationship remains strained.
