Fort Rolmir
Fort Rolmir guards the road between Fort Dayn and the coastal towns of Vallanmouth and Farport to the south, acting as a crucial outpost in the network of fortifications that defend the Kingdom of Remon's coastline. Constructed from the same dark stone that gives Fort Dayn its imposing appearance, Fort Rolmir is smaller in scale but no less vital.
The fort is commanded by Captain Storn, a seasoned officer from the capital of Harsann. Storn was sent to Fort Rolmir as part of a broader effort to improve communication between the kingdom’s military strongholds and to ensure that all commands function efficiently under the watchful eye of Lord Mannakar, the commander of Fort Dayn. Though she reports directly to Mannakar, Storn is known for her fierce independence and strong leadership, qualities that have earned her the loyalty of her soldiers and the respect of those in the surrounding settlements.
Fort Rolmir itself is built around a central keep, surrounded by stout walls that enclose a modest garrison. Though not as large or grand as Fort Dayn, it is well-fortified and strategically positioned to observe and control the critical trade routes that pass through the region. From the top of its walls, lookouts can watch the roads and the lands towards the coast.
In recent months, Fort Rolmir has been drawn into the growing web of intrigue that surrounds Lord Mannakar’s son, Althus. Storn has been approached by some of her own officers, who have raised concerns about irregularities in their orders and supply shipments, similar to those that have plagued Fort Dayn. Though Storn has no desire to challenge her superiors openly, she is wary of Althas’s growing influence and is determined to protect her garrison from the same whispers of corruption that have begun to circle Fort Dayn.
