Eddin Rahn

Eddin Rahn is a long-forgotten ruin at the eastern fringes of the Amber Plains, a site that whispers of a lost era.   Once a proud tower that stood as a sentinel over the sprawling Nythran Forest, Eddin Rahn was destroyed nearly 2,000 years ago during the Great Burning - a cataclysmic event that turned the verdant woodlands into the desolate Amber Plains that exist today. In the year 286, fierce magical fires swept across the region, consuming all in their path and marking the defeat of the Dharo and Norrans, the peoples who once called these lands home. Eddin Rahn, like many other structures of that age, was reduced to little more than charred stone and ash.   Today, Eddin Rahn’s remains are barely visible above ground. What little is left of the once-imposing tower is buried beneath layers of ash and hardened earth, with only a few jagged stones protruding from the scorched ground to hint at its former grandeur. The air is thick with the smell of burnt soil, and the landscape around the ruin is a bleak tableau of barren earth and crumbling pits. The surrounding land bears the scars of the ancient fires, dotted with the skeletal remnants of long-dead trees and patches of hardy shrubs like Bloodpetal, whose crimson leaves lend an eerie contrast to the otherwise muted hues of the plains.   Though most of the structure has collapsed or eroded over the centuries, there are whispers that some of Eddin Rahn’s secrets remain hidden below. Local legends speak of a network of buried tunnels and chambers deep beneath the site, remnants of ancient Dharo architecture designed to withstand even the most fearsome attacks. Few dare to delve into these sunken ruins, as the unstable ground and lingering magical energies pose significant dangers to the unwary. Yet, for those bold enough to explore the forgotten depths, there may be rewards beyond imagining.   Recently, rumours have surfaced of a powerful artefact hidden deep within the ruins, known as the Heartshard of Eddin Rahn. Said to be a relic of immense magical power, the Heartshard is believed to have been created during the final days of the Great Burning to protect the Dharo people.
