Alden and Aldann

Alden and Aldann are noble titles used in the League of Mar Miskun and the Mar Mabon Townships. They are relics from the time of the Thalissian Empire.   Ranking below the Sindirs and Sindatts are the Aldens (male) and Aldanns (female). With no extant monarch, the title is no longer granted; holders are typically heads of ancient dynasties. These individuals continue to wield significant regional power (for example, as master of a large town).   The spouse of a Alden may use the title Aldann-Dira, and the spouse of a Aldann may use the title Alden-Dira.   Heirs of a living Alden or Aldann may use the title Alden-Farus (for males) or Aldann-Farus (for females). Other children of a Alden or Aldann bear no title.   High priests of Helerin's major cults, and the most senior military leaders are customarily considered equal in rank to Aldens and Aldanns if no superior title is already held.   It is customary for city rulers to be accorded the title of Alden or Aldann if no equal or superior title is already held. The ruler's spouse and children receive no title.   An Alden or Aldann is addressed as "your Lordship", while their spouse or children are addressed as "Master" or "Mistress".
