The Strange Nights
The Strange Nights are the week after the 4th new moon of the year. It is a wide-spread belief that during this time, the veil between spirit world and human world is lifted, leaving spirits, ghosts, and demons to roam the world freely and causing mischief.
During this period of time, one should avoid to sign contracts or leave the house after dusk, travellers are advised to stay at their current location since ghost roads can easily lead them into their own demise. Daily offerings for the ancestors are recommended as well as keeping an eye on the family cat for warning signs. It helps to pour salt at house entries like doors, archways, or windows to reenforce the barrier.
