War Domain
War has many manifestations. It can make heroes of ordinary people. It can be desperate and horrific, with acts of cruelty and cowardice eclipsing instances of excellence and courage. Clerics who tap into the magic of the War Domain excel in battle, inspiring others to fight the good fight or offering acts of violence as prayers.
Gods of the War Domain watch over warriors and reward them for their great deeds. They include champions of honor and chivalry as well as gods of destruction and pillage. Other war gods take a more neutral stance, promoting war in all its manifestations and supporting warriors in any circumstance.
Domain Spells
Your god grants you access to certain spells that are tied to your domain. You gain these spells at the cleric levels noted in the Domain Spells table.
If you have a domain spell that doesn't appear on the Divine spell list, the spell is nonetheless a Divine spell for you.
You may cast any domain spell available to you without expending Spell Points. Once you do so, you may not do so again until you finish a Short Rest or a Long Rest.
Cleric level | Spells |
---|---|
3rd | Divine Favour, Magic Weapon, Shield of Faith, Spiritual Weapon |
5th | Crusader's Mantle, Spirit Guardians |
7th | Freedom of Movement, Stoneskin |
9th | Destructive Wave, Hold Monster |
3rd Level: War Priest
Your god delivers bolts of inspiration to you while you are engaged in battle. When you use your Action to cast a cantrip, you can make one weapon attack as a Bonus Action.
In addition, your training with weapons allows you to use one Mastery Technique of your choice. Whenever you gain a Cleric level, you can change the Technique you chose.
6th Level: Guided Strike
You can use your Channel Divinity to strike with supernatural accuracy. When you or a creature within 30 feet of you misses with an attack roll, you can use your Reaction to expend one use of your Channel Divinity and give that roll a +10 bonus, potentially causing it to hit.
10th Level: War God's Blessing
Your damaging spells empower your strikes. When you cast a spell with spell points that deals damage to a creature, you gain a bonus to your next attack roll equal to half the number of spell points expended, rounded down.
14th Level: Avatar of Battle
You gain resistance to Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing damage.
