The Great Wychmyr-Kharst War
Around 1968, by Earth historian estimates, an small reconnaissance force from the Kharst Empire was looking for new lands worth conquering. They found a promising planet that seemed to be inhabited by a unadvanced species as there were no unnatural satellites in orbit. The ships closed in to investigate and their initial orbital observations seemed to agree with the initial assessment. The inhabatants had some industry, but did not seem to possess any spaceflight capabilites.
When the Empire returned with a small fleet they were surprised to find that the natives not only had spaceflight technology, but had hid a fleet larger than theirs among the rocky rings of the planet. They were unaware that this planet belonged to the Wychmyr and it was not even their homeworld. This war raged across the galaxy until 2002. Around 1980, the Wychmyr needed some extra help with their war effort and began searching for viable allies in the galaxy. They added the Razk to their alliance sometime around 1983. In 1985, they found Earth. After around a year of secretive negotiations, promised technology was recieved by the governments of Earth and volunteer forces were sent to aid the Wychmyr.
