Svak

When the Eastern Sea dried up and became the desert of Múspel’s Gate, most beings that lived along the border left in a mass exodus. The cities and towns lost their source of water. Strange things happened to the earth of Múspel Gate, and most beings considered the place cursed. The people of Svak stayed. They were able to survive thanks to aquifers that ran throughout the city that they’ve been using long before the sea started drying up. The underground water isn’t enough for much crops to survive along with the beings that live here, so they mostly have to rely on imported goods, not that the situation would sway anyone to leave this city. Svak is the home to the Saataba, and they worked too hard building this land into their home to go anywhere else.

Svak is the city where beings go to learn the way of the Saataba and are taught how to use the forces of chaos. Many Saataba travel to other cities and lands where their work is needed, but they always return to Svak, their home, where all Saataba are welcome.

The Saataba often stand on shaky ground with their relationships to other kingdoms because of their workings with the forces of chaos. They put a lot of effort into making their city an impressive work of art. Every building is a true spectacle. They welcome others to travel to Svak to witness its majesty. If others see what works of art the Saataba are capable of, perhaps it will soften their negative feelings towards the Saataba.

Svak is also home to the most impressive observatory in all of Hárronfall, where many travel to study the heavens. It has some of the best open libraries, theaters, and study halls. Many beings that aren’t Saataba settle in Svak to learn in art, science, and history.
