Nita’a Tako

The nita’a tako are medium-sized birds that are abundant all over Hárronfall. They resemble prehistoric birds with long toothed beaks and claws on their wings. The word nita’a tako translates to emerald feather in Lina’ae (the shared language of the fey and aes sídhe), as the nita’a tako in Vitala-loka have vibrant green feathers. They also have a yellow crest and yellow plumage on their chests.

The nita’a tako in the southern plains are mostly light brown and speckled with white and black. The nita’a tako from Svar-loka’s Gate are black and speckled grey, same with the ones from the mountains. These birds from the rest of Hárronfall are golds and browns with white around their chest and head. While the nita’a tako come in different colors depending on the region, most races that have close contact with the fey and aes sídhe still their name for the bird.

The nita’a tako are the most abundant bird of prey in Hárronfall and eat rodents, small birds, and reptiles. Many races hunt and eat the nita’a tako and use their feathers to decorate their hair.
