Calayner
Oman Calayner married Inlysë of Tyunë in 693, and
succeeded his father in 702.
Oman was survived by two siblings, Linetë of Calayner, a woman of unparalleled homeliness who entered the church of Larani, where she still serves as a temple priestess at the Temple in Tashal. At age 52 she is becoming senile but has moments of clarity. She spends most of her days praying in the chapel.
Moden Calayner is a 48 year old Knight Bachelor, who left Kaldor in 694 with a squadron of Knights of the Order of the Lady of Paladins to fight for Kanday in Ezar’s War.
Oman often spoke with great pride at how moved his brother was by the assassination of Kanday’s Queen Eriel, and that he left his home to defend a sister Kingdom.
Moden survived the war, but stayed on with the Order of the Checkered Shield and is believed to still be active in that border dispute. He was last heard from in 718.
Oman’s eldest sister, Dylael, died of a fever at the age of ten.
Inlysë bore 6 children for Oman. Lumin, the eldest, and former Bailiff of Feron, succeeds his father.
Corik is a Knight of the Order of the Lady of Paladins.
Their third child, Terrain, died of the pox before reaching age three.
The eldest daughter, Quinila, is currently finishing an apprenticeship as a Herald at the Enclave of the Holy Oak in Tashal.
Tolfyn, the youngest son was fostered at Iversen shortly after Oman’s death in 715.
Myrel, the youngest daughter, lives at home with her mother and her eldest brother.
In 714, Oman was called to service by his lord Earl Petor Caldeth of Minarsas. Earl Caldeth assigned Oman to duty under Sir Maldan Harabor, Sheriff of Meselyneshire at the request of the King.
An unusual request was made the following year, and Oman was asked to serve again.
He agreed. During that appointment in the spring of 715, an incident of some sort occurred at Baseta. A dispute arose between Oman and Baron Eres Tereneth, the reason for the dispute is unknown, but Oman considered it a challenge of honour.
Sir Tereneth was inclined to settle the dispute amicably, but Oman’s temper flared and the matter was brought before the Sheriff.
Sir Harabor, angered by the dispute, ordered trial by combat on the 1st of Azura.
Eres struck first, and Oman’s wounds became infected. He died after the battle on the 7th of Azura, 715.
Lumin succeeded upon his fathers’ death.
