Archon of Petrov and Lord Paramount of the Isle D'L'Est

The current Archon of House Petrov is an individual renowned for his ambition and conniving nature, even before initiating the rebellion between the magic supremacist and the Halruaalan Royalty.  He is an avid and prolific businessman, having outmaneuvered nearly every Merchant Prince in the Congregation of Merchants. At the same time, his mastery of the conjuration school is beyond any other Archon who came before him.  He casually seems to disregard the wards and challenges imposed by the Enochian Ward; to a degree that has bewildered even The Oracles of House Romanos.

Since the civil war between Houses Petrov, Hanover, Clan Oni, Udaku, Aetius, and Odinson, the Archon of Petrov has grown in power and influence.  His political power and the weight of his armies have expanded drastically in ways that seem to defy logic. But even then that doesn't seem enough for him.  There is something more underneath the surface, and the Archon not as forthcoming about what it is.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Alexi Petrov is a tall and imposing man, standing around 6'3" (190 cm) with a broad, powerful frame that hints at both regal bearing and physical endurance. His face is chiseled and angular, with high Slavic cheekbones, a strong jawline, and a straight, prominent nose. His eyes are a piercing ice-blue, sharp and full of wisdom, yet carrying the weight of years spent navigating both politics and the arcane. His brow is slightly furrowed, giving him a perpetually contemplative or calculating expression.

His hair is thick, long, and silver-streaked, worn loose past his shoulders. He has a well-groomed beard. His complexion is fair but weathered

He wears robes of deep sapphire or midnight blue, embroidered with silver or gold thread in the shape of arcane sigils and imperial motifs—double-headed eagles, storm clouds, or runic wards of protection. A heavy fur-lined cloak of black sable or white wolf pelt drapes over his shoulders, clasped by an ornate brooch bearing his royal insignia.

When he moves, he does so with measured grace, his presence commanding respect and fear in equal measure. In his hand, he carries a staff of blackened oak or silver, its head crowned with a crystalline focus that hums with barely restrained magical power.

Specialized Equipment

Archon Petrov has in his possession a staff of terrible power which is always near him should he need to fight. Rumors holds that he crafted it when he replaced his father and that some of the old magics of House Petrov resides in the magic item.

Personal history

Archon Alexi Petrov was born the third son of Archon Balthis Petrov. Because of his older brothers and their already potent talent with magic, he was set to inherit a minor Lordship title but no real lasting holdings.  Even though he was a member of one of the eight Noble Houses, because of his rank in birth, Alexi would hold less power than Count in his parent's court - soon to be his older brother's court.  A fact that his older sibling would remind him on a near daily basis growing up.

Though something happened on when Francis turned eight. While at the Hexeth Academy in Duchnov, his older brother Henry died in an experiment gone wrong along with five other students and their professor.  Two years later, his sister, Elizabeth died when a skyship she was one fell from the sky over the Inner Sea. In that short span of time, Francis was set to inherit everything and his magical learn soared in earnest.

Over the next four years, the future Archon of House Blackharbour mastered every aspect of magic his teachers could throw at him.  His craft became more potent, effortlessly performing spells that would have drained Magisters with years of experience over him. He graduated from the academy by the age of fourteen, a whole three years early. This prompted him to take a more active role in governance under his father, and he joined the Imperial Senate in Duchnov.

As Alexi's power and prestige grew in politics so too did his power for business.  By the age of eighteen he had complete control not only of the city's senate floor, but also of the city's Congregation of Merchants.  Every guild owed their business to him or were in someway indebted to him and he took the opportunity to expand to the West and to the North, Marinovica and Carteia respectively.  By twenty-two, he nearly had complete control of all of the House Petrov's trade routes and enough magical know how to replace his father.

When Alexi Petrov turned twenty-five, his father stepped down and retired, dying five years later.  The newly appointed Archon Petrov married a member of Duchnov's nobility, Alice Hargreaves, and began strengthening his ties to his father's political allies in House Hanover and Clan Oni.  For the next twenty years, House Petrov solidified its position within Halruaal and either drove their competitors out of business, or watched as they passed on under less than reputable circumstances.

Gender Identity

Archon Petrov strictly follows the norms within Keildener society and gender roles. A staunch leader and masculine feature, he has made it abundantly clear that he stick to traditional representations of what it means to be a man, and a noble within one of the Great Houses.

Sexuality

Archon Petrov is a heterosexual male married to a noble Lady from one of Duchnov's oldest Houses.  There is neither any evidence or rumors of him being anything less than strictly heterosexual or unfaithful.

Education

He was an advance graduate of Hexeth Academy in Duchnov, graduating top of his class early and more respected than many of the professors at the wizard's school of conjuration.  To this day, there are few who could ever hope to have as firm of a grasp or commendations as him.

Morality & Philosophy

The Archon of Petrov is a firm believer in the idea that magic is might.  Those with it are meant to rule and those without are meant to serve.  For him, to think any differently is to be naively incompetent.  When he first proposed the return to the strictly stratified society of the old Magisterium, there were many who thought he had lost his mind.  Though with the growing conflicts of the civil war, and his ever increasing power, few can deny his apparent ability to back up his bold claims.

Ideas around equality among magic users and non-magic users is abhorrent to Archon Petrov.  He personally deems such beliefs as heresy.
