Segmented Tubeworm

this strange creature lives along cold seeps deep underwater, where it buries its lower extremity into the sediment like a plant root, and stands straight up, like a stalk, absorbing hydrogen sulfide and oxygen from the water, and feeding it to the bacteria living inside its gut so that it can use the byproduct as energy to feed itself. the tubeworm secretes an out shell tube of inorganic material which it can protect itself with by hiding inside of.
