Ancestries

All characters have an Ancestry and a Culture (except Cyberguards, which do not have a Culture). select your Ancestry from the list below.   a character may have two Ancestries, denoting that they are of mixed ancestry. the rules for Mixed Ancestry are designed to balance such characters to those who have a single Ancestry.   for Mixed Ancestry characters, use the following adjustments:  
  • if both parents are of Medium size, you are Medium size.
  • if both parents are of Small size, you are Small size.
  • if one parent is of Medium size and the other is of Small size, you can be either Small or Medium size.
  • if both Ancestries have the same speed, you have that speed.
  • if one Ancestry has 10 yard speed, and the other Ancestry has 7 yard speed, you can have either 10 yard or 7 yard speed.
  • if either parent has Low-Light Vision or Infravision, you have those traits as well.
  • for all other traits, choose any two traits from among any offered by either Ancestry (two total, not two each).
  • mixed Leonin Ancestry is never Large size and never has speed of 13 yards.

Human

Udori High Caste

Udori Warrior Caste

Orc

  • +2 Strength.
  • Low-Light Vision.
  • +1 ancestral bonus to Fortitude and Spirit Saves.

Elf

Size and Type: Medium Fae   Speed: 10 yards.   Aging: 1 - 18 years: infancy 18 - 45: childhood 45 - 72: primary school years 72 - 110: adolescence 110 - 225: young adulthood 225 - 288: middle age 288 - 450: old 450+ years: venerable +3d100 years: max age   Traits:
  • Low-Light Vision (Dark Elves have Infravision 40 yards and Light Blindness instead).
  • +2 Search, Spot, and Listen.
  • Trance: Elves do not sleep as other ancestries do. instead, they enter an altered state of consciousness similar to a meditative trance. in this trance, the Elf gains the same benefits of an equal amount of rest. the Elf also may dream in this trance. however, they are harder to wake up, requiring a Willpower saving throw against DC 15.
  • Immune to Sleep spells and effects.

Dwarf

Size and Type: Small Fae   Speed: 7 yards.   Aging: 1 - 8 years: infancy 8 - 15 years: childhood 15 - 50 years: adolescence 50 - 150 years: young adulthood 150 to 195 years: middle age 195 to 300 years: old 300+ years: venerable +5d12 years: max age   Traits:
  • Infravision 20 yards.
  • +2 to Saves vs Poison and Spells.
  • Stability: Dwarves gain a +4 bonus to checks and saves to remain standing as long as they have both feet planted firmly on the ground. this bonus applies to checks to avoid being Bullrushed, Pinned in a Grapple, or Tripped.
  • Sturdy: Dwarves can weild weapons sized for Medium creatures at no penalty.

Gnome

Size and Type: Small Fae   Speed: 7 yards.   Aging: 1 - 16 years: infancy 16 - 40 years: childhood 40 - 65 years: primary schooling years 65 - 81 years: adolescence 81 - 90 years: secondary schooling years 90 - 200 years: young adulthood 200 - 256 years: middle age 256 - 400 years: old 400+ years: venerable +10d10 years: max age   Traits:
  • Low-Light Vision
  • +2 Listen.
  • -2 Strength.
  • +2 ancestral bonus to Charisma-based checks vs Animals and Plants.

Halfling

Size and Type: Small Humanoid   Speed: 7 yards.   Aging: 1 - 4 years: infancy 4 - 10 years: childhood 10 - 25 years: primary schooling years 25 - 36 years: adolescence 36 - 50 years: young adulthood 50 - 65 years: middle age 65 - 80 years: old 80+ years: venerable +3d12 years: max age   Traits:
  • -2 Strength.
  • +1 to all Saving Throws.
  • +2 to Listen.

Changeling

Size and Type: Medium Fae   Speed: 10 yards.   Aging: 1 - 4 years: infancy 4 - 10 years: childhood 10 - 18 years: adolescence 18 - 40 years: young adulthood 40 - 64 years: middle age 64 - 80 years: old 80 - 100 years: venerable +15d10 years: max age   Traits:
  • +2 to Saves vs Enchantments.
  • Minor Shapechange: as a Supernatural Ability, Changelings can change their form to any Small or Medium Humanoid or Fae Humanoid form at will. this innate magical ability provides the Changeling with a +10 circumstance bonus to Disguise checks, as well as a +2 circumstance bonus to Bluff checks to act in character. if the Changeling is slain while shapechanged, they revert to their natural form. Changelings may stay in a given form indefinitely, even maintaining the form while sleeping.
  • Changelings can choose to automatically ignore the effects of transformation magic without needing to make a Saving Throw.

Leonin

Size and Type: Large Monstrous Humanoid   Speed: 13 yards.   Aging: 1 - 3 years: infancy 3 - 7 years: childhood 7 - 14 years: adolescence 14 - 20 years: young adulthood 20 - 30 years: middle age 30 - 36 years: old 36 - 40 years: venerable +1d10 years: max age   Traits:
  • 2d8 Monstrous Humanoid HD. +2 Base Attack Bonus, +0 Base Fort, +3 Base Ref, +3 Base Will, +0 Base Spirit. Skill Points 5 x (2 + Memory modifier).
  • Low-Light Vision.
  • Natural Weapons: 2 Claws (1d6 + Strength modifier) and Bite (1d8 + Strength modifier).
  • Pounce: as an Extraordinary Ability, Leonins may pounce at the beginning of combat to move their full speed and still make a Full-Attack.
  • Roar: Leonins receive the Kiai Shout Talent for free.
  • Scent.
  • +4 Ancestral bonus to Hide checks made in either thick brush or snow (pick one at character creation. it can't be changed later).
  • ECL +1.

Cyberguard

Size and Type: Medium Living Construct   Speed: 10 yards.   Aging: adulthood at creation 10 - 225 years: middle age 225 - 350 years: old 350 - 400 years: venerable +10d10 years: max age   Traits:
  • Composite Plating: +3 Armour, -1 Check Penalty.
  • Light Fortification: as an Extraordinary Ability, Cyberguards have a 50% chance to avoid Critical Hits and Sneak Attack bonus damage.
  • +2 Stamina, -2 Wisdom, -2 Charisma.
  • Natural Weapon: Slam (1d4 + Strength modifier).
  • Favoured Class: Commando.
  • Cyberguards do not get a Culture and cannot have Mixed Ancestry.
