Way of the Open Palm

Way of the Open Palm is a mystical artform, mixing physical mastery of the self and a unique way of interacting with the world. Through years of training, a person can use this art to transform themselves into a practitioner- some would say a "monk". These practitioners move with supernatural precision and can, through experience and trauma, unlock abilities that are entirely superhuman. In order to begin this path, one must train under a practitioner- no amount of reading or theory can allow someone to transcend the mundane in this way.
Before leaving, Halycon granted this art to all macaque snow monkeys. From these snow monkeys, sentient species have learned the practice over time. It has been a slow and gradual buildup of knowledge and specialists over the past 2000 years. Specialists from the Taiga- particularly the Southern Taiga- have formed communes and monasteries devoted to the art.
The greatest master of this art form was Flori the Transcended- a Cuttlefolk from Northern Garadel, who traveled across the great ocean and united the underwater peoples from all its corners (born 1800 ME) before dissapearing into the depths. Some say that Master Flori is still alive, traversing the seas.
