Kobold
Kobolds are the miracle children of Halika- they were born in the fires of Stildane, emerging en masse in a moment of divine creation after The Chimera scoured the land with meteors. As the youngest species on the planet, other cultures were present to record their beginnings- and recognize them as newcomers. Kobolds have since migrated across the planet- often struggling to supply large numbers with sufficient sustainable meat.
Most curiously, kobolds are the only things on the planet completely immune to Ederstone .
As a Character Race, Kobold's have the following statistics:
- +2 Dexterity, +1 Constitution
- Can climb 30 feet/round
- Immune to Ederstone
- Advantage on all spell saves for Transfiguration effects
Basic Information
Anatomy
Kobolds are mammalian humanoids with opossum-like narrow faces, goat-like horns and eyes, and monkey-like feet and tails. They are covered in thin white, black, or brown fur and have eyes that vary from yellow to blue to pink. Their many sharp teeth and their vicious horns can make them quite intimidating, despite their smaller size.
Genetics and Reproduction
Kobolds are all hermaphroditic, with no significant hormonal differences. Kobold-kobold reproduction is similar to humans, but kobolds are also capable of inter-species reproduction with all sentient races. In the case of interspecies pregnancy, the offspring is entirely randomized- they are born as a random individual of a sentient species alive somewhere on the planet.
Growth Rate & Stages
Kobolds have a similar adolescent period to humans, though their later aging takes longer- they only become elderly after a century.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Kobolds are obligate carnivores- while they can eat fruit and berries as supplements, they will be malnourished without meat.

i was trying to think of something like this for my world but smaller. I was trying to come up with something like a palico from monster hunter that was not just straight up a felyn. i also like how you did not go the common route and make them the lizards like everybody else. I like it
Thank you - one of my players (the one who got to play the role of the Chimera) made this concept for me, and it has been really fun in practice. I was initially worried about calling them kobolds, but couldn't think of another simple name that would capture the "sort goblin-esque forest creature in a germanic-naming place" vibe. Thankfully, I've found that players have responded well and the name has generally worked. Can recommend it as an option for whatever fun species you end up making.
